On 12
th December, the day after the Officers' Mess Christmas party, we embarked on the first part of our two part ski trip to
Fernie.
Fernie is in British Columbia and is renowned for good snowfall and powder, making it a popular resort for snowboarders. Paddy and Janina joined us for the first week of our stay. We stayed at Lizard Creek Mountain Resort in a luxury three bedroom condo - the main attraction being the ability to ski in and ski out. The snow was fabulous with fresh snow most mornings. A few days were a little cold, but a good excuse for me to go shopping! The girls had a great time. Every afternoon they would go to "Ski and Play", a three hour session which included at least two and a half hours of ski instruction. As the resort was fairly quiet the girls invariably had an instructor to themselves. By the en

d of the holiday both girls were going up the chair lifts and ski-
ing blue runs which meant we could ski as a family. We said goodbye to Grandma and
Grandpops on the 18
th December. They were returning the the UK before setting off to France for Christmas. We stayed a few more days returning home on 23rd.
