I have been helping out at Holly's school on Friday mornings and for the past few weeks the theme has been the Olympics. There have been a number of Olympic style events for the children, for example a student versus teacher ice hockey match and a curling competition. The school also attempted a human re-creation of the Olympic rings (see below). Can you spot both Holly and I in the yellow ring! No medals were awarded during the course of the school Olympics however many children received good sportsmanship certificates, including Holly (well done Holly). Before the closure of the school Olympics each child had the opportunity to meet Corporal Ken Merritt and hold the actual torch he carried through Ralston as part of the torch relay though Canada on 16th January.
