On 5th March there was an all ranks Hoedown - the dress code obviously western. The event was greatly attended by cowboys, cowgirls, Indian chiefs, cows, a horse and an M&M! There was line dancing, a bucking bronco, a "roping dummy" (where you sit on a stuffed horse and try and imitate calf roping (catching a calf in a lasso), a western style band and a disco. 
The line dancing was great. The event organisers had invited the oldest swingers in town (a group of line dancers with an average age of around 65-70) to teach us how to line dance. It was amazing how many men actually gave it a go! Stuart and I both rode the "bull", a big mistake on my behalf as I suffered a strained thumb and severely bruised thighs! They were black and blue! It was a great night. Lots of people let their hair down (some too much!) and everyone had a good time.
